Gate Safety

In June 2010, the tragic deaths of two children in separate incidents, prompted the Health & Safety Executive to issue a General Safety Notice, with respect to the safety responsibilities towards Automated Gates, Car Park Barriers and Sliding Doors. They must have adequate safety features to protect individuals from potential hazards, which could result in injury or death.

This means that, by Law, every existing and new installation falls under the current Legislation of the Machine Directive 2006/42/EC. All automatic gate systems must comply with this. For more information on this see this document
